SCOTT HARRIS' TOUR JOURNAL: Kansas City & OK City

Hey what’s going on, sitting in the House of Blues in Dallas, waiting for the show. Last two nights have been really good, excited to go back to OK City and Kansas City (MO). Met up with my boy Danny in Kan City and had a really good time. Wish I could say I went to a Royals game but I didn’t. I’m excited to play the show tonight, lots of people are gonna be here supposedly. I’ve got some pics below, enjoy!

SCOTT HARRIS' TOUR JOURNAL: Lincoln & Minneapolis Recap

A few days to update you with. I had a nice day off and a 7-hour drive to Minneapolis on Sunday. The show in Nebraska was a good time. It definitely was a success. I ended up getting some good sleep after the show, too. It was a really early show and Teddy was done at about 9pm. I picked up a new Nebraska pillow which I am currently resting my head on, it's pretty comfortable. I’m listening to the new Coldplay song, "Lost" for about the 7th time in a row. So good. Acoustic version may even be crazier. Right now we are driving to Kansas City for the show tonight and we’re seeing rain for the first time this tour. Last night I played Minneapolis and the show went really well. I used in-ear monitors instead of regular monitors for the first time this tour and James came through big doing my sound. The show was another early one which was nice. We explored the very clean city the night before and had some fun in the birthplace of Prince. Lots of music culture in Minneapolis and the venue (Fine Line Music Cafe) was cool. I’ve got some video up of some performances in different cities so check it out! I’ll check back soon.

SCOTT HARRIS' TOUR JOURNAL: June 20 - Recap of Provo, Utah

Last few days have been crazy. We arrived in Provo, Utah around 3Am. Woke up and it was really hot out. Worked out for about 9 minutes and started the day. Got to check out Provo a little bit. Walked around the mall and ate at some little Italian place similar to Sbarro's, only worse. I ate a salad with fake chicken. We walked over to the venue to meet everyone at sound check. The people of Utah were extremely nice. A lot of BYU students showed up. Met a cool Jewish, Haitian, Mormon that was definitely worth mentioning in the blog. The crowd was very much alive. They danced wildly which is pretty impressive for acoustic music. The venue was cool and had lots of interesting religious art (as you can see by the Rock + Roll Jesus). Good times. We left the venue and stopped at our first hotel but quickly changed our mind (or rather it changed it for us). The motel was really seedy. A woman approached and shouted "Covergirl, nice, while I'm in the motel getting my ass kicked". How about that for Carbon Utah? Anyway we ended up staying at a nice Holiday Inn and got 3 hours of sleep before hitting the road to Denver. Hopefully I'll be well rested for the show....

SCOTT HARRIS TOUR QUICKIE: Fake Internet

SCOTT HARRIS' TOUR JOURNAL: June 18 - Recap of Seattle

Been driving four around 4 hours. We are on the way to Utah. Seattle was a really good time. We got to chill a little bit and walked around the pike place market. The show was packed and was a cool crowd. Thanks for helping me sing along and definitely send us pics from the show. A dude we met at our Portland hotel even showed up. I told him I would shout him out on the blog. What up, Jeff Stoner. After the show I checked out the Hurricane, a cafe which is somewhat famous and was about a step from our hotel. Played some pool and came across a really sweet Asian woman who was following Ichiro around the states. Big Ichiro fan and was very down with Hideki Matsui so she is cool in my book. She bought us drinks and hustled us in pool. We have about 10 more hours until Utah. Awesome.

SCOTT HARRIS' TOUR JOURNAL: June 17 - Recap of Portland

(Most gangster Scott Harris fans of all time! Throw your P's up, Portland!)

We arrived in Portland @ 1230am. We stayed at a really interesting spot called the jupiter hotel. Disco music was bumping and Oregonians were going wild. Got to our room and the first thing we saw was a condom next to a pair of earplugs (both branded with the Jupiter logo). We knew it was gonna be a good night. We had some drinks, near a firepit (which was right next to our room, literally), met a few interesting people, then we passed out. The next morning we woke up and explored Portland, very chilled out place. Walked around the town for a while in perfect weather, bought a shirt or two and then moved on to the venue. Show was very well received and the crowd was definitely the livest thus far. Thanks to everyone at the Aladdin Theater for singing along! Looking forward to Seattle! Until next time....

SCOTT HARRIS' TOUR JOURNAL: June 14 - Recap of Sacramento Show

So, David and I woke up today feeling nice, refreshed from the sleep in. Didn't have to be at the venue until 5pm so I was able to chill out at the hotel and relax. Sacramento is boiling hot and really not the most interesting city in the world but oh well. Got to the venue around 4:30pm and realized we had no sound man because Hilary McRae and her people were tied up in San Fran. James (Teddy's monitor man) saved my ass and did the sound check. Thanks, James! Anyways, showtime came and only about 70 people showed for the show. Still had fun with the crowd and almost everyone supported by getting the CD or snapping a pic. Thanks to the Sacramento fans for the love and send those pics! Even David was asked to snap pics with some admiring "fans"! The promoter at the venue (Empire Events Center) said that after we loaded out Empire turns into a dance club. Took one look at the seedy line up and opted out. Back to the hotel, had a few drinks and chilled in the room with Jordan (Teddy's drummer), David, James and the Covergirl ladies (the tour sponsor). Good fun and bonding. Tomorrow we're off to Petaluma, CA for a show that night so check back for updates. Later.

SCOTT HARRIS' TOUR JOURNAL: June 13 - Recap of San Francisco Show

We arrived at the Great American Music Hall around 2:30 PM. We had a quick scare when the gas gauge was not working and had to drive about 10 miles an hour for about an hour with the air conditioning off but we eventually found gas. We loaded in and went to grab some food. I have never been to San Francisco but apparently we walked in a seedy direction. We wandered around for a little bit and then sat down to eat some Thai food. David picked the place and it was actually really good. We waited around for a while; sound checked and ate some really good meatballs from the venue. The show was once again pretty solid. Probably not as many people as the night before but it was a great crowd. Took some interesting pictures with almost everyone at the show. Even got a shot a picture with a Dad who became a huge fan quickly. He may have been wasted when he told me 600 times how good I was but I'll take it. Good dude. David even got a shout out when I was on stage. Yea.... David. Niiiiice.
We loaded up and drove the one and a half hours to Sacramento, just got to the hotel (3am). Looking forward to two straight nights in the same hotel.......I'll be back soon. G'night.

SCOTT HARRIS' TOUR JOURNAL: June 12 - Recap of Pomona Show & Journey to San Francisco

Back again for the first time....we arrived at Pomona Glass house shortly after we spent half an hour searching a pretty cool thrift shop outside the venue. A car almost hit Ian and when he caught his breath we loaded in, sound checked, and met everyone who we are touring with. The show went well. I seemed to be pretty well received. I was happy with the performance. "I don't like you" wins best song of the night for me. Sold a bunch of Cd's and shirts. Signed a lot of autographs and had some first times occurrences. Signed a shoe, a bunch of arms, a face, jeans and more. Hilary and Teddy were both impressive. Truly not just saying that. They were really good. We hopped in our cover girl van and drove until about 3:30am. Stopped in Bakersfield, CA. Didn't know where I was until I asked David. Walked into our hotel room and there was somebody in it.....sleeping. REALLY weird. Went downstairs, got a new room and passed out until 6:45am. Got some food and onto San Francisco to the Great American Music Hall. Sitting in the venue, listening to Teddy's sound check....I'll get back to you tomorrow.

SCOTT HARRIS' TOUR JOURNAL: June 10 - Arrive in Los Angeles

Welcome to the first posting of the tour journal for Scott Harris' Summer Tour 2008. Stay tuned for many, many more......

I flew to LA on the morning of June 10. We picked up my tour manager, David at LAX shortly after my manager, Ian and I landed in Long Beach. The flight was a jungle gym. Too many little kids climbing on everything and throwing things at each other. Shane Botwin from "Weeds" sat behind us. I tried to convince Ian it was him the whole flight. He had a weeds backpack on after the flight which was confirmation. Would have said hi but seemed a little weird being he looks 10 and that's creepy to me.We got to the hotel in the afternoon. The entire making the band was chilling in our lobby. I would have had no idea but obviously David knew everyone in the band. Diddy was nowhere to be seen. We ate lunch on the roof in the sun and drank beers. Ideal situation. Beautiful weather. I met an old friend of mine Rene for a few at a BBQ he was having in West Hollywood. Anyway, we checked out NRG studios, which was really nice. We bounced and watched the Lakers game at Ian's friends. Entourage house from season one was across the street and Beck lived next door. Gotta go get ready for the first show tomorrow in Pomona....check back soon!
